Movie Night: A One-to-One Speaking Session
Arrive confident and ready to talk about an episode of a hit Netflix series, and the deeper questions it asks us about life
Are you tired of watching series and films alone and not being sure you really understood the cultural references…or the expressions?
Do you love series, but you’re not sure you’re really improving your English as you watch them?
Are you sick of small talk–in English conversations or in general?
In “Movie Night” you’ll immerse yourself in the dark tech-dystopia of an episode of Netflix hit series, “Black Mirror.” It’s just the kind of series that will make you want to question life and the reality around you.
And this time you’ll watch with your “Movie Night” guide. It’s a short and sweet guide with hand-picked additional resources, cultural and language notes, and listening strategies. You’ll get to experience the joy of being able to understand a series without the subtitles.
And you’ll learn plenty of authentic expressions native speakers use in the series, so you can use them in real life.
Thanks to the reflection questions in your “Movie Night” guide, you’ll be ready for your one-on-one conversation session on a series that native speakers love to talk about.
And you’ll be confident discussing some of the big questions the series asks us about life, technology and what it means to be human today.
An individual English session for people who are passionate about series and want to change the way they watch and discuss them.

How Movie Night Works
Harnessing your interests and passions is a little bit like tapping into a language-learning superpower.
You’ve probably experienced it before–the way you just learn better when what you’re doing grabs your entire attention and speaks to who you are.
For some of us, the best way to do that is by watching and discussing a great series. Or talking about life’s big questions.
But just watching series by yourself is not enough–even if you’re passionate about it.
You need to do more than sit back and watch. You need to take time to understand the cultural references, use effective listening strategies, learn and practice new expressions.
And most of all, talk about it all with someone.
That’s why I’ve put together “Movie Night” just for you.
In “Movie Night” you’ll have a chance to:
